Coimbatore a city in Tamilnadu, popularly known as Manchester of South India is known for its booming industrial and textile business. Ever since, early 2000’s Coimbatore has seen an exponential growth. Much of its growth is credited towards the globalisation policies of government. Several prominent Corporates like Lakshmi Mills, Pricol, Ramani Realtors and Stanes group are having their base of operations in Coimbatore.

The city owes much of its growth to the family of Sir Robert Stanes, a british businessman and the first chairman of Coimbatore who established United Nilgiri Tea Estates in Coimbatore. The city is located in the banks of Noyyal river and water bodies like Ukkadam periyakulam, Valankulam and Singanallur lake are the popular wetland areas in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore is also an educational hub of tamilnadu with popular colleges like PSG, CIT and KCT. CBSE schools in Coimbatore are considered as one of the best in India. Coimbatore is also the second-largest software exporter in Tamilnadu nad has a dedicated SEZ in the city.
